by Dog Lover on

Las Vegas, Nevada is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. Sin City comes alive at night, with its elaborate star-studded performances, abundance of casinos, and myriad of tourist attractions.

The hectic environment may discourage the average pet owner from planning a vacation, besides dog’s can’t play the slots, right? Sure, but outside of casinos and nightlife, there are pet friendly hotels in Las Vegas that will cater to your thrill seeking and lavish tastes while keeping your pooch entertained.

In October 2010, the PetStay program was in launched in Las Vegas by Cesar’s Entertainment. Due to its recent success at Cesar’s Palace, Imperial Palace and Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, the company decided to expand to include Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Paris Las Vegas, Harrah’s Las Vegas, Bally’s Hotel and Casino and Flamingo Las Vegas.

As part of the PetStay Las Vegas pet friendly hotel program, guests and their dogs will receive an in-room amenity that includes treats, food and water dishes, and a pet mat. Guests also receive a map of dog-walking routes, on-property designated relief areas and a variety of dog-friendly resources for pet walking, pet sitting, grooming services and veterinarian information.

  • Each resort offers designated floors and areas as pet-friendly zones, for example Cesar‘s palace has designated a floor in their newly renovated Augustus Tower.
  • Dogs staying at any resort must weigh 50 pounds or less and be present at the time of check-in.
  • Dogs are permitted to walk through designated common areas while on a leash and accompanied by the owner.
  • Dogs left unattended in a guest room must be crated at all times; crates are available for rental.
  • The PetStay Las Vegas program is a $25-$40 (plus tax) per night upgrade at participating Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas Resorts.

A trip to Vegas requires advanced planning. It becomes very hot in the summer which means that most of the time your pooch will have to be in an air conditioned environment. If you do not choose to book at one of PetStay Vegas pet friendly hotels, be sure to double check with your hotel for pet fees, deposits, breed and weight restrictions. Pet fees can run as high as $200 per dog.

If money is no object, there are concierge and VIP pet sitting services who will be happy to pamper your pooch while you take in the Vegas Strip.

The possibilities are endless. What happens in Vegas is up to you!
